From Fr. Kelly

WOW!  What an incredibly beautiful Farewell Mass on 6.23.24, I felt that it was a slice of heaven on earth. The music was perfect, the singing was joyous, the church was full, the readings were perfect, I could go on and on! Thank you to all who played a part in the liturgy. You made it heavenly. Also thank you to the Boroughs of Avalon and Stone Harbor for the beautiful and memorable proclamations.

And after the Mass, there was an incredibly beautiful and joyous reception in Tierney Hall. There were a number of folks on the committee who planned and executed the reception and I thank you one and all. Your efforts were stellar. Thank you to all who stopped by to wish me well in my retirement. I was glad that some of my family were also able to be there on short notice. Thanks for all the well wishes, cards, gifts, but most of all for the GIFT OF YOU!

I also want to thank the local businesses who helped so much with the reception…Gina and the staff at the Rocking Chair for the food preparation, High Dunes Bakery for the baked goods, Rick’s Seafood for the shrimp, the Hand Family of Fred’s for the beverages, Bittersweet Duo for the music, and Craig Miller for the photography.

Avalon Mayor John McCorristin declared 6/23/24 as Fr. William Kelly Day. It was certainly one that will never be erased from my memory because of YOU. Thank you again, ALL OF YOU, from the bottom of my heart.

The Prayer of St. Brendan the Navigator
Help me to journey beyond the familiar and into the unknown.
Give me the faith to leave old ways and break fresh ground with You.
Christ of the mysteries, I trust You to be stronger than each storm within me.
I will trust in the darkness and know that my times, even now, are in Your hand.
Tune my spirit to the music of heaven, and somehow, make my obedience count for You.
AMEN.

St. Brendan the Navigator has recently updated our online giving services to better serve our parishioners. We are providing this option in addition to cash or check donations. You are still able to give via traditional methods, but now you can make recurring or one-time gifts online with a credit/debit card or electronic check, text a donation right from your phone, or through a QR Code! This is a great way to simplify your giving, and it is the most cost-effective, environmentally friendly way for us to receive your generous contributions.

Weekly Giving – The Sunday Offertory is used for the day-to-day operation of the parish and its programs. We thank you for continued support of our parish and our initiatives.
